The rivalry was pretty intense in St Louis, which is why I know about the whole "The Mets are Pond Scum" thing from back in the 80s...
But I have no ill-will toward the Mets, even though the series was 4:1, they put up a HELL of a fight... and as far as fans go, you've got assholes in every city.
It's humorous to sit and sling shit at left coast weirdos or the hayseeds that live down County Road Sister Fucker in fly-over country, or the lisping dickholes that infest New York City... but when it comes down to it, there are shit people everywhere, and any region that tries to say that it has no shitty people is comical.
