I never said they were higher ideals. I inferred in a vague way the ideals of sharing were more acceptable to me than ideals of taking.

Using their and they makes this whole statement THEIR opinion, not mine. Perhaps i should have excluded the last part about better happier lives.
I think you are reading between the lines, but if anything comes of this i will make sure to write more clearly in the future.
