8GB of ram allocated, that was one thing I spotted a few months back at least, and 64 bit java, latest version as of saturday. chunks were at 12, i dropped them back to 8 while it was laggin, and it didn't make a diff. changed grahpics from fancy to... the not-fancy one, no diff. troubleshooting minecraft is awful!
