The good news on the pigs is you don't have to actually feed them. I just bring all mushrooms back to camp and drop them. Pigs will eat pick them up and leave manure behind. Much easier.
I do agree beefalo are way more manure productive, but it's not always easy to find a large herd, and the piggies are actually useful for protecting you from rampaging wolf thingys. Plus living in a piggy camp makes sanity pretty much a non-issue.
