Subject: reviving WFA on steam

I was over on the Urban Terror forums and there was some talk (pros and cons) of getting UT on steam. This got me thinking about WFA.

Putting any revenue considerations aside until later (honestly, free to play would probably be the smartest thing to do), a steam version could have the possibility of reviving the community.

The effort involved in getting WF (i.e. WFR) developed on a modern engine in my opinion is too difficult without some kind of kickstarter and severe dedication and talent.

However, replacing all of the Quake 3 media used in WFA does not seem to me to be in the same ballpark at all as creating new models and animations with all the high-poly/low-poly versions, normal maps, etc required for something like the Unreal engine. Mapping would also be an order of magnitude easier and more productive (just ask Aries).

SS, I realize this has become your baby over the years so I would love to get your opinion on this. What are you plans for WFA?
