I bought an ATI Radeon for my father's computer and did so with the recomendation of some people from this board. I'm sorry, but I will not buy another ATI product, and the recent clusterfuck of their drivers for Q3 only solidifies that.
For all of those who dont know, ATI uses software and rendering "hacks" to reduce bandwidth and thus, make their cards faster than they should. It is a tile rendering technique, and it sucks ass. I cannot tell you how many compatibility problems I've had with the Radeon just to get it to work properly on several games.
The only thing worth considering ATI for, is their price point. There is a sad truth in the video card business; you get what you pay for.
