It's nice to be able to believe you live in the greatest country in the world... and I believe I do as well... but if you're going to make such dangerous and controversial generalities, and then make those thoughts public and aggresive... you'd damn sure be able to handle being criticized by other people who feel the same.
I'm going to go out on a limb and assume you haven't truely lived in many other countries... for all you know, Brazil is the true greatest country to live in... it's all a matter of perspective... and your perspective is certainally biased to say the least here... I have to think Infernal's and Shlappy's and about everyone else who would be interested in getting into this particular war (AGAIN) is in that same biased boat.
Don't get me wrong... I couldn't see myself being any happier living in any other country on the planet... but using wars common to dozens of other countries to decide who's more deserving of respect is just plain dumb... realistically, Russia would be the greatest country on Earth according to those parimeters... hell, they lost damn near 20 million. Does that make them better or more important...?
The United States and Canada got into the back nine of a few foreign wars and we made a difference... We probably all had family members who did something for their country, and we should all be proud.
There are around 6 billion people on Earth, and the 280 million in the US and around 32 million in Canada... that's 312 Million people who probably damn near all think they live in the best country in the world... that's still only like 5% of the world... I'd be willing to be there are people in Sri Lanka who feel like they've got a little slice of paradise too :[
