Looks about right, was playing around with some stuff for awhile. took the existing seed and started a whole new map.
It's kinda nice, flew around for awhile. While deserts are a little more sparse in number, they appear to be bigger. After flying around for like 30 minutes in a big spiral I still didn't see any snowy biomes and maybe just 1 of the new mushroom biome. I'd recommend pregenning a few maps looking for a little more diversity. A swamp might make a decent place for spawn/capitol because of the reduced amount of work involved. They're pretty damn flat and the water is generally only one block deep for the bulk of em.
