I keep well-fed and give them hugs and regen up and go for another hug. The only insta-deaths I've had with them is because the fuckers hunt in packs of 7 lately. You probably had another one sizzling away behind you and you were in both of their radius' but they weren't close enough to job each other.
But I'm also playing SP so who knows.
