so i looked through the bug reports for minecraft and nobody has mentioned the shortage of mobs spawning... could this be a server setting thing? there was a time when mobs were everywhere, now you have to find them, and thats pretty damn hard. this includes pigs and other animals as well. did you turn mob spawning off or down or something?
