Subject: Windows 7 and, eek, Exchange 2000

One of our commercial divisions is running SBS 2000 on an old IBM Z-Series server and the business has no immediate plans to upgrade their system. The VP of that division has purchased a new PC for home that he uses to access business systems. His computer is running Windows 7 Ultimate.

I've searched far and wide and tried everything I can think of to make Outlook 2007 running on Windows 7 connect to an Exchange 2000 server using MAPI. I ended up having to install the built-in XP mode and he uses the Outlook installed on that VM to access the Exchange 2000 server. The problem with this solution is that the XP Mode PC does not see his wireless printer - plus it is just added complexity for him.

From what I've found, Vista had the same problem connecting to Exchange 2000. Turning off encryption doesn't help. Surely somebody out there has tried this before. Hopefully someone here has?
