I had a posted an issue about Dynamic DNS updates not working a month or so back. It turns out the problem was with the DHCP server itself. I had
"Always Dynamically Update DNS A and PTR records"
selected instead of
"Dynamically Update DNS A and PTR records only if requested by the DHCP clients"
Apparently, always means never.
