A good troop ratio is generally 1:1 (pop to army), more army than pop is better, especially for Teuton.
I am not even 1:1 I'm below that but I am changing that in the next few days as I start massing Spearmen (5 just started today) and Paladins (15 just started yesterday) to go with the 80 macemen I already have
