Real life is analog. Nothing wrong with it, its just filled, in general, with boring, stupid people that drive like morons.
I mean I do go out, I do have an circle of friends thats growing ever smaller as I get older due to marriages and jobs and what not.
Second Life gives people a social outlet that not all of them may have access to due to jobs, relationships, personality deficiences...whatever. Its a viable platform for social networking just as much as YouTube and MySpace, its also a viable platform for gaming and enjoying yourself.
Frankly theres nothing wrong with Real Life®, its just that Real Life doesn't have quite as many options as Second Life® for many people. So why look down on people for wanting those options in their lives?
I sure don't. The way I look at it, this is only the beginning, humanity is on its first steps to a digital existence, that is, should the ones that wonder "Whats wrong with Real Life®?" not set the planet on fire with nuclear weapons in the mean time.
