Subject: ATI's ARE good, but

their drivers need serious work. luckily ATI knows this, and has gone into overtime to put out better drivers. so hopefully in the next 6 months, they'll have gained enough knowledge in drivers that they wont be an obstacle

but considering how much LESS ATI cards cost than Nvidia, ($100 less in most cases for equal cards, like kola mentioned). thats why i chose them, because i was going for as high an upgrade as i could get within a reasonable budget (thus the AMD Athlon and ASUS A7V-E). i purchased an ATI Radeon 64mb DDR card for $250 canadian. the same hardware power from a GeForce 2 would have set me back $100 more (i did a lot of price searching)
