Congratulations Static. I just got 2 of the $99 Visiontech cards for x-mas presents. At $200 each I could not afford them, but at $99 each I can :) My bother and sister are gonna be pretty damn happy. But jeez, I bought the cards earlier in the week so all I had to do was a return/rebuy today to get in on the deal. Doing this insured that I would have them, as I thought at $99 dollars they would be sold out in 5 minutes. Man, I am glad I did that. I got to Best Buy at 6:45 this morning. I would estimate the line outside the door at 3 to 5 thousand people. Fox news was there, channel 10 was there, and the channel 4 helicopter was hovering overhead. It was friggin unbelievable! I have never seen anything like it. When I first got in line, the Best Buy sign was like a half mile away in the distance. To this Best Buys credit, they were serving free coffee and donuts to everyone waiting in line. Even with all these thousands of people, once the doors opened at 7am it only took 15 to 20 minutes to get in the store. Once I was inside, I went straight to the customer service desk, which had NO LINE at all! I returned the two Visiontech GF3 Ti200s I bought for $199 on monday, then re-bought them at $149 each (my dad got 1 and I got 1 since they limit it to 1 per person), picked up our rebate receipts and forms, then we were outta there. I think it only took 5 or 10 minutes tops once we were in the store. I'm glad I bought the cards on monday, cause I know they would have been gone by the time I got inside, even if they had 15 or 20 of them. We are talking half price on a $200 dollar video card. I don't know how Best Buy was able to do this, but I'm glad they did. Enjoy your card Static :) Today was a good day :) |
