The psx2 is only slightly less powerful, but the xbox is aimed isn't really just a console.
The xbox is more like a full functioning computer than any other console ever created. The technological advances that it has achieved are in the area of bridging the gap between console and PC and not as much in graphics. However the graphics are amazing.
