I think you took the "Devs should stick to their vision and not listen to the peanut gallery" thing a little too literal. We aren't saying they should be a Nazi about ideas, but.... we are saying they shouldn't try to make EVERYONE happy, either. Ultimately, they have to have a vision about what the game should be like.... and then look to players to help them realize that vision... how to forge a path that ultimately leads to realizing that vision.
The comment about them not listening to players is in reference to not listening to ALL players... and only doing things half ass. Instead, listen to players who understand the vision and have good input on how to get there.
