Yes, that is true, but the grapple was a HUGE stumbling block in the process of getting good. Take out the grapple, and alot of the basic fundamentals from every FPS you have ever played carries over in some form or another.

The grapple (especially the one in WFA) adds a whole new area of learning to a FPS game. It is truly an art form or game unto itself.

With FPS games, when you starta new mod... you suck. But, as soon as you learn the maps, pick up on strategies, etc.... and if you are a skilled FPS player, you can usually start making up the ground. But, when you try to learn how to grapple, or defend against.... it is like a baby trying to learn how to walk for the first time; there just isn't anything like it that you've done before. It is an entirely different skill-set.

The speed of the WFA grapple didn't help. If you slow it down a bit, it would probably lessen the learning curve a bit, and at the same time, not make it as hard to defend against when you don't know how to use it.
