My personal perspective is that the more advanced engines get the more masturbatory game & mod development has gotten -- were it's almost a means to an end in playing with engine features at the expense of any real, serious game design or innovation.
If WFR goes anywhere, and you'd like a real Sound Designer, I'd be interested. But sound design and Sound Designers by association have been shit under the wheels of game & mod development where their work gets horsed and fucked around with like the work of no other developer, contributor, or asset artist -- I'm really not interested in having my work treated like what's under the 5th wheel.
If you're interested, I have a fairly decent portfolio of work in Theater, Advertising, Film and now Game sound design, but I'm pretty jaded about mod projects.
