SS why would they opensource q3 right now? mods and other games based on the d3 engine won't be around for a bit. Hell the licensing on d3 engine may not be as wild as the licensing still on the q3 engine.
on the other hand, I wouldn't mind ripping their filesystem code instead of having to write my own again.
