Never could come to grips with all that traction (the abrupt transitions) and power... The first road racing machine I 'attempted' to ride was a stripped open class machine at the Brainerd International here in Minnesota -- being an off-road rider I'm very used to grabbing a handful of throttle and made the mistake of doing the same on a machine with a power to weight ratio that is embarrassing to some attack aircraft and a 0-60 acceleration under three seconds.... The acceleration was neck snapping and I couldn't back of on the throttle as I'd grabbed a fist full, was pulled back and riding the rear wheel for over a quarter mile... Everyone was impressed with my first ride skill, I was impressed that I lived... . |
