Subject: LSS & Fusion

I was wondering just how is it that Call Of Duty does 'Large Scale Scenery', and to such a scale with dense geometry with better performance then previous iterations of the id Q3 engine... And is, or will Fusion be able to mimic whatever technique is used for similar results?
