| Subject: | RE: WFAMAPS testing feedback | |
halfes-wfa - Didn't test this map during the session I was at.. so I cannot really comment on it. I hope to get some games in over the weekend on this map. Spiders Bite "spbite-wfa": Again, we didn't test this map while I was in attendance, so I will refrain from commenting on this map as well. Torrent - I'm in agreement with Sol here.. Torrent is a great map. The design is in fact inspired/based on Eastwood1wf (Q2WF level), but D-Man has added his special touch to it and improved both the visuals as well as certain design changes that allow for better games. Would be good as both a pub map as well as a match play map. Rain is a nice touch, though the sound is overbearing at times -- tone it down and release a final version of this sucker. Urbandecay - Another map I've yet to see in action. Obviously I need to get more testing time in :) Crusade - See above. Return - I found this map to be pretty well thought out. I like the design, though the texture job leaves room for improvement. klonax is mixing tech textures with gothic textures and he really needs to decide on which style/look he wants. My other beef is that the water route door at midfield is one-way only, this is both annoying and closes up an escape route for flag-carriers. Fix it up some, and it could be official-status quality. Ravfort: Another unplayed map. Without actually knowing anything about this map other than its name and author, I can't comment on it as a map. The name does bother me, however, it gives players the idea that it's another 2Fort knockoff.. I'd consider renaming it. Welthe - This map's design rocks. So what if it's a bigger version of the Q2WF level, which in turn was inspired from a TF map (Well)? Many players in q2wf loved this map and it saw more than its fair share of playing time long after its release. Shadowspawn might want to go over the texture job a touch, however. I'd like to see this level included with future WFA versions. cruel2 - "World So Cruel" has somewhat of a cult classic status across the pond. I personally enjoy playing games on this map, and seeing how up until recently it was an official map, it's obvious others feel the same way. I can't think of any major beefs with the level as is, so regardless of whether its undergone any changes, we should take a serious look at including this map in the next WFA release as well. 2fortL - Been awhile since I've ran through this one, though I can still remember the map. Naraka has done a great job giving 2fortL a Q3-flavoring and spit-shine job. Might not be one of the strongest candidates for release with the next version, but still a contender nonetheless. =V3= |
