That was my fault.
I was working on a generic "radar" for WFA, which included not only flags, but fellow players as well (and enemies within the PVS).
The compass was on gimbals, and looked similar to ss's (although admittedly not as nice).
However, I quit the WFA development team before it was finished.
I guess that they never reassigned the radar project to someone else.
