I vote for your ingenuity and applying it to WFF, it's a new game I don't think you have to or should stick to legacy and especially controversial assets, designs, paradigms, content, or even game-play -- people that want WF or WFA can PLAY WF or WFA; cut new cloth and tailor new designs for WFF where ever you feel like it.
Lots of things can be improved and many with very little effort with just a little creativity -- choosing a new path makes a clean break in either/or contraversy, and offers something fresh and compelling.
