actually rags it is a different experience as both light and dark throughout the game, as to how you treat other characters and how they treat you. also its just fun to go through the game as both a saint and a sinner =P
and if you're purely evil, i don't think it'll let you choose the light side stuff at the end. least i don't remember having that choice when i went through the game as an asshole
