you should only see that error during a shutdown; for some reason its kicking the game out. That shutdown is called only when the game exits; like a quit or a system error.
Hendrix: go back to the alpha that's working.
what I suggest is taking the wffusion.pk3 (opening it with winzip), there will be a file in there called wfdefault.cfg. delete it. also clear out any .cfg files in the wfadev directory.
if it still crashes open the pak35.pk3 in the wfadev directory and delete the idlogo.roq.
if that doesn't do it, create a shortcut to the wffusion.exe and add this to the start part: +set logfile 3
It should look something like this:
fire it up and see what happens. there should be a file called wfconsole.log in your wffusion directory.
tanis send me your dxdiag.txt to my email. I'm gonna see if there's anything similar between yours and hendrix's. As i remember you had a cfg issue with trying to run vertex.
