"the bad points are that by the time the mod actually gets mature it will have lost most of the original people because it changed too much,"

not if you SAY during the early releases that you will be adding in a butt-load of new features, that way they will be expecting it and looking forward to it. Look at all the so-called shitty versions of wfa.. tones and all those "leet" guys always say how the OLD wfa (2.X) was 20x better than the newer releases.. but they're still here arent they? Once you start playing a mod and get good at it, meet the community and make friends, you dont just up and leave.

"and you'll be back to the point where no new people can come in because now it's matured to the point where it's too complicated for some newbie to learn it."

Its supposedly going to get to that point anyway! why not stretch the period before that as long as you can trying to get everyone possibly. If wf turns out to be the biggest mod then people will start to play whether its complicated or not.

and i still think having it out early will be better because if you release it after all the other mods then people will already have started playing a game that they like. Would YOU want to go to another mod thats really complicated and you were noob at if you were already playing a mod you were good at? hell no.
