Yeah... there are some things that can be changed easily and other things that require a LOT of work to change because of dependancies. Unfortunately, its not always obvious which items fall in to which catagories either until you start coding and stuff stops working. Most of that is because we don't have the quake 3 engine source. Some of that should be easier for you... at least easier to track down once you know there is a problem anyways. A good example of this is the 16 weapon limit in quake 3. That looked fairly straight-forward but in reality turned out to be pretty complex.
