way way long ago. i think since march? the posts with the flares are really old; acrid did the vector math a while ago, and I was working on doing calulations by hand with static just a few days ago. Those two guys rock.
It just so happened that we are going to offer a few different types, now that I found a flare editor plugin for lightwave 5.0, that displays different math and what it looks like realtime. But the whole concept of flares is old. It was in some maps, but you just couldn't see em cause the code didn't have it in wfa yet.
but the q3map2 sun positioning part, well, its darned handy to have if u want it.
