depends on how anal u are about certain things.

Look at the brush sizes on id maps, then look at the texture sizes too. The card actually maps the textures to the surfaces (WHICH WAS EXPLAINED AT QCON) so the more work they do, the more it bogs down frames. I was really surprised at how that um, 'map' that im workin on got good frames on my card then I released that the textures weren't even stretched or anything at all. They just 'fit' right on em and all i needed to do was bump em up or down a bit.

hell the floors and the ceilings are only two textures, 32x32, and they aren't stretched or remapped.

gotta remember q3 was built for the older cards at first, look at wolf; that's a bit extreme but the frames are from the maps, not the code.
